commission information

Most of my requests are for character artwork, so the pricing scale that follows has that in mind. However, I am open to any number of projects and am actually looking forward to taking on more challenging commissions. Ultimately I will have to evaluate your idea before I can quote you a definite price, but you can use the following as a loose guide.

5.00-20.00 - pencil sketch (cleaned up, nice looking sketch, but not completely polished)
opencanvas/photoshop sketch

15.00-30.00 - pencil sketch, simply colored
monochrome colored pencil drawing
black and white line art suitable for coloring

25.00-50.00(and up, as needed) - full color pieces with simple or no background. coloring detail may range from anywhere from flat colors, very basic shadow and light, to a more detailed value range (this will affect the cost). 30-40 would be about average for this range.

Size of the character (a kitten or chibi character vs an ogre or samurai), amount of character in the picture (such as from the shoulders up vs full body), and complexity of the pose will also affect a picture's pricing. Extra characters will raise the price of a piece, as will very detailed props/costumes.

If you are interested in a piece that is more painterly, a fully illustrated scene, or one where the background is complex/specific, feel free to contact me with your idea for an estimate. Similarly, if you want to own a real media piece (likely done in marker, water color, colored pencil, ink and pastel), tell me what you have in mind and I'll be glad to give you an estimate. I am open to doing work for commercial use, but that affects pricing considerably. Let me know your ideas and I will see if we can make them work!
